CorelDRAW User Artwork Brand Video

Project overview

As a freelance Motion Designer, I created a 15-second brand video for CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2026 celebrating the creativity of CorelDRAW users. The video brings a selection of user-created artwork to life, with each piece featuring a unique interpretation of the CorelDRAW balloon logo.

Inspired by infinite zoom animations, the video moves quickly between different pieces of artwork using match cuts, zooms, and transitions designed around the individual compositions. The focus was on showcasing the artwork itself while creating a bright, energetic video that felt fun and visually engaging.

Process & Approach

I worked alongside a Creative Director who developed the initial concept, storyboard, and selected the user artwork. From there, I had a lot of creative freedom to determine how each piece would animate and how the scenes would transition together.

The original concept leaned more heavily into an infinite zoom, but the compositions of the selected artwork didn't always allow the balloon logo to line up naturally between scenes. I adapted the approach using match cuts and other transitions to create a similar sense of continuous movement without forcing the same transition throughout the video. I also refined the storyboard to fit the 15-second runtime, selecting the artwork that worked best together.

Each piece of vector artwork was prepared in Illustrator, where I separated elements into individual layers before bringing them into After Effects. I then developed the animation for each scene based on the artwork itself, finding ways to add movement while keeping the original work at the centre of the video.
